About The Position
The Gray Media Training Program is a high-octane, 10-week immersive experience designed to train the next generation of media professionals, including producers, reporters, weather experts, and sales executives. This program offers a hands-on approach where participants will be involved in real-world assignments from day one, contributing to content creation for various platforms including television, digital, social media, and streaming apps. The program aims to provide participants with practical experience, a professional portfolio, and a potential fast-track to full-time career opportunities within Gray Media's extensive network.
Requirements
- Current enrollment as a college student (Junior or Senior status preferred).
- Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- A 'doer' mindset with the initiative to take on tasks.
- Understanding of digital media platforms and engagement.
- Strong work ethic, including urgency, organization, and a 'can-do' attitude.
- Clear and confident communication skills for storytelling, pitching ideas, or explaining forecasts.
- Reliability to commit to the full 10-week program and the 25-hour weekly schedule.
- Passion for the community and local media's impact.

Responsibilities
- Own the role: Step into the shoes of a producer, MMJ, meteorologist, or media sales executive and handle real-world assignments.
- Drive digital engagement: Create content that lives beyond the TV screen, including social media, streaming apps, and web stories.
- Collaborate with pros: Work side-by-side with seasoned veterans to gain insights.
- Commit to the craft: Dedicate 25 hours per week for 10 weeks to mastering your specialty and building a professional-grade portfolio.
