About The Position

Gray Media is seeking motivated individuals for its Sales Training Program (Fall '2026) at WLBT. This paid internship opportunity is designed for college students, preferably seniors, who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in media sales. The program offers a unique chance to learn the fundamentals of media sales, build client relationships, and develop skills applicable to any career. Interns will actively participate in prospecting, client presentations, and supporting digital and broadcast sales strategies, working alongside experienced professionals. The goal is to provide real-world experience that goes beyond traditional shadowing, with many interns transitioning into full-time roles.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college/university, preferably in your senior year
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• College student, seniors preferred, earning a degree in Journalism/Communications, Sales, or related fields
• Desire to get hands-on experience in the local media industry
• Curious, competitive, and not afraid to try
• Interest in sales, marketing, or media
• Ready to learn skills that translate to any industry

Responsibilities

• Prospect and identify new business opportunities
• Practice cold calls with coaching
• Build client presentations and proposals
• Support digital and broadcast sales strategies
• Work alongside experienced Media Executives and Sales Leaders
• Participate in weekly training sessions
• Start conversations with clients
• Sell multi-platform advertising solutions (TV + Digital)
• Build and present a winning pitch
• Manage a pipeline and grow revenue
