About The Position

As the Media Operations Specialist, you are responsible for providing operational support for the Media Performance & Activation team within Best Buy Marketing. In this role you will coordinate end-to-end process for the media operations and invoicing in working closely with Best Buy’s media agencies, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Controllership and cross-functional partners. You will develop a deep understanding of the media process and will support media team operations by managing billing, tracking, and reconciliation, providing accurate and effective accounting practices end-to-end. You’ll will partner with our procurement team and manage documentation and approval processes via Best Buy’s procurement system. As the Media Operations Specialist you will support in campaign management which includes stewardship of media plan flowcharts, campaign budget approvals, ongoing team deliverables, reporting and meeting coordination with internal and external partners. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. Requirements

  • 6 Months of experience in Digital Media Operations, planning and/or buying experience in an agency, client, or publisher setting
  • 2 year of experience in an accounting or finance capacity
  • Strong financial acumen
  • A team-player who is a self-starter, curious and eager to learn, demonstrating openness to feedback and coaching
  • Intermediate experience in project coordination skills including rigorous attention to detail, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and organized

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years progressive marketing or digital media experience
  • Previous experience in Ariba or similar billing systems
  • Advanced PC Skills to include all Microsoft Office products including both PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with omni-channel paid media programs for a national, retail brand

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end media team operations process, in partnership with media agency and internal finance partners such as Accounts Payable and Controllership
  • Provide cross functional budget management for Media Performance & Activation team by ensuring accuracy and securing budget approvals in a timely manner through Best Buy’s procurement system
  • Manage invoicing process including setting up purchase orders, processing invoices, researching invoice discrepancies, and overseeing partner communication relative to invoice status
  • Support media strategy team with stewardship of media flowchart, ongoing team deliverables, reporting and meeting coordination with internal and external partners
