About The Position

Illinois Medi-Car has immediate openings for full-time drivers who transport wheelchair-bound individuals to healthcare facilities, hospitals, testing laboratories, and similar destinations. Drivers provide patient care as specified in their training, ensure safe and efficient transportation, complete billing documentation, and keep the vehicle sanitary while monitoring fluid levels and gauges and promptly reporting mechanical problems. The position requires safely operating a vehicle during daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successfully pass the Company's required lifting test and map test, and complete the interview process successfully.
• Functional communication and writing skills in English.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the skills required of a Medi-Car Driver, including moving a wheelchair up and down stairs and in and out of the Medi-Car.
• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in Medi-Car Driver training.
• Transport passengers safely and efficiently, including reading maps and identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
• Complete appropriate documentation for billing information.
• Keep the vehicle sanitary, monitor fluid levels and gauges, and immediately report mechanical problems.
