About The Position

Med Aides assist with resident medication delivery and management, activities of daily living, and observing, documenting, and reporting resident conditions. They work in partnership with the Director of Assisted Living and the Memory Care Director and support residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. The position also involves responding to medical needs, maintaining accurate records, following infection-control procedures and SRG policies, and protecting resident and family confidentiality.

Requirements

Arizona Caregiver Certification.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Completion of state regulatory certifications and ongoing training requirements.
Six months of experience in a related position.
Compliance with licensing requirements.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Yardi, eMAR, Schedule Pop, ADP, or other relevant platforms.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assist with medications as prescribed by healthcare providers for residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Document medications given or not given in eMAR.
Communicate with residents, healthcare providers, families or POAs, and the Director or Nurse about medication-order changes, refill challenges, and missed scheduled doses.
Observe, report, and document changes in resident conditions in Yardi EHR progress notes and the Nurse to Med Aide Communication Log.
Document resident concerns in the End of Shift Report and follow up on them.
Reorder and receive medications; ensure residents do not run out and medications are logged, properly labeled, and stored.
Notify the Director or Nurse of medication discrepancies.
Provide first aid when needed and respond to medical emergencies.
Assist with internal incident reports and data entry in Yardi EHR.
Document alert charting once per shift in Yardi EHR progress notes.
Document monthly weights and vital signs as needed in Yardi EHR.
Maintain clean, organized medication rooms, medication carts, and medication overflow areas.
Complete narcotic counts with the oncoming shift.
Destroy medications according to policy.
Participate in weekly medication audits.
Respond to resident pendent calls as needed.
Assist residents with activities of daily living according to their personalized service plans.
Collaborate with caregivers to provide quality resident care and recommend ways to improve care quality.
Follow infection-control procedures and SRG policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of resident and family information.
Complete monthly training assignments as scheduled or assigned by the Director.
Perform other duties as assigned.
