About The Position

Royal is a diverse manufacturer of injection molding, urethane foam and assemblies, serving the automotive, furniture, and consumer products industries. We are looking for a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician for our Mission facility. This role is essential for keeping our manufacturing equipment performing at its best. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, controls (PLCs), and/or robotics. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. Training will be on 1st shift (8am-4pm) for 2-4 months, after which the role transitions to 2nd Shift (4pm-12am).

  • Ability to use fingers, hands and arms to complete a task (dexterity).
  • Hand-eye coordination.
  • All employees must wear approved safety glasses.
  • High school diploma/GED or 3-5 years of solid manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the manufacturing maintenance field.
  • Must have a basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting.
  • Willing and able to work overtime.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with injection molding, custom automation and PLC programming skills are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & repair of industrial machinery such as hydraulic & electric injection molding machines, gantry & articulating robots, auxiliary/support equipment, along with custom designed assembly equipment.
  • Understand complex electrical, hydraulic, & mechanical systems such as: Servo electric drives/motors, Digital & analog control systems, Closed loop proportional controls, Hydraulic pumps, directional control, & logic (cartridge) valves, Ball screws, & precision mechanical control.
  • Understand and application of metrology for precision setup & maintenance.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies such as infrared thermography & ultrasonic measurement.
  • Application of education, theory, & mathematics to equipment maintenance.
