About The Position

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible to perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and breakdown repair of mechanical systems, including but not limited to: natural gas engines, natural gas compressors, instrument air compressors, centrifugal/reciprocating/diaphragm pumps, electric motors, 24V electrical systems, cooling fans and exhaust fans. This position will report to Spindletop Storage in Beaumont, Texas. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must live/relocate within 1 hour of reporting location
  • Maintain Valid Driver’s License
  • Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb various stairs and ladders, including fixed and A-frame
  • Frequently lift and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Push/pull forces up to 130 pounds
  • Regularly walk, stand, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch for durations of up to 30 minutes
  • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays; be available for callout
  • Work inside or outside including times of heat, humidity, or other inclement weather conditions
  • Safely work around various types of rotating or moving equipment
  • To wear personal protective equipment, such as flame-retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of experience as an industrial mechanic
  • 5 or more years of experience with natural gas engines and compressors

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily checks on rotating equipment including: Oil levels, Lubrication Systems, Compressor Valve Temperatures, Engine Cylinder Temperatures, Inspection of belts, shives, bearings and couplings, Inspection of machine guarding, Equipment Vibration Monitoring, Housekeeping.
  • Conducts routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory).
  • Performs a variety of Mechanical Maintenance and Repair duties such as: Preventative Maintenance and repair of engines, compressors, and associated components; examples include compressor valves, spark plugs, cooling and lubrication systems (auxiliary).
  • Preventative Maintenance and repair of pumps and associated components, such as lube oil, glycol, coolant, condensate, etc.
  • Preventative Maintenance and repair of other mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valve actuators, etc.
  • Preventative Maintenance and repair of fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc.
  • Participates in and successfully completes training programs, risk management reviews, and safety meetings required to comply with state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Reviews and follows procedures as necessary to ensure compliance of all company and industry standards to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
  • Accurately completes documentation such as timesheets, SAP work orders, safe job plans\work authorization permits, LTT and regulatory reports.
  • Optimizes work in most effective (efficient and leveraging priority) manner, in alignment with the Maintenance Work Process (MWP) and Stop Work Authority.
  • Works autonomously at varying times and in diverse weather conditions and is available for callout.
  • Maintains facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping practices.
  • Effectively utilizes tools and tests equipment as needed.
  • Responds to operational emergencies.
  • Performs and accurately documents regulatory required testing.
  • May oversee contractors providing specialty services (Quality Assurance, Quality Control).
  • Reads and comprehends technical procedures.
  • Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
