About The Position

Sofidel America of Phoenix is currently seeking a Mechanical Technician. We are searching for a candidate that is local to the area and is looking for a long-term role in a stable environment. Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school; or high school diploma or equivalent, and minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, documentation, and computer skills required
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in welding and machining is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute professional and technical knowledge to increase the effectiveness of operating systems, enhance product quality, and identify more cost-effective ways to achieve objectives while lowering expenses.
  • Perform maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment, avoid mechanical failure, and modify, replace, and repair parts and components as needed to keep the plant running safely and effectively.
  • Enter work orders into the appropriate computer systems, monitor required work, and keep track of parts in stock.
  • Carry out expert upkeep and repairs on a variety of mechanical and physical structures, working from sketches, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Determine the priority for planned equipment shutdown by performing preventative routine maintenance, executing diagnostics, replacing parts, and testing equipment operations.
  • Examine procedures for their relevance and evaluate the suitability of engineering equipment.
  • Examine mechanical equipment to identify potential problems and participate in process improvement efforts to identify inefficiencies and design flaws.
  • Collaborate with other team members to resolve problems and determine the root cause. Recommend improvements and make mechanical adjustments.
  • Manage and collaborate with vendors and contractors to monitor and enhance output in order to advance technology and provide better products and services while maintaining plant safety.
  • Perform or assist with operations as required to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality requirements. Inform management of any unusual equipment or operational issues as well as the requirement for additional materials and supplies.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized while following safety protocols and equipment operating instructions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
