This role operates under little supervision and performs a variety of highly complex maintenance projects. The technician will collaborate with maintenance associates and team members, provide project leadership, and develop and manage projects from inception through completion. They will also provide expert technical guidance, training, and mentorship to less experienced associates. The position requires maintaining accurate records of daily equipment usage, parts dispensed, flow meters, and work orders using maintenance software. Interpreting electrical and mechanical prints, installing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical components like transformers, pressure sensors, VFDs, and PLCs are key responsibilities. The role also involves conducting daily rounds for PSM compliance, collaborating with external vendors, assisting with wastewater treatment, monitoring operational areas for cost reduction, and supporting operators in optimizing equipment performance. Implementing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, performing facility infrastructure repairs, operating forklifts and scissor lifts, and conducting welding and fabrication repairs are also part of the job. Proficiency in using fabrication equipment, understanding mechanical systems, and executing advanced preventative maintenance tasks are essential. A comprehensive understanding of all equipment in the production area, expertise in refrigeration systems, and the ability to follow English instructions are required. The role also involves working with various food products and demonstrating proficiency in basic problem-solving, welding stainless steel, basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, CMMS), understanding electrical concepts, mechanical knowledge, and competence in pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with PLC I/O troubleshooting and knowledge of building utilities are also expected. The technician will assist and coordinate special projects and support the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology. Additionally, the role requires inputting work hours into the CMMS, completing work orders and PM tasks, generating work orders for defects, auditing PM schedules, requesting replacement parts, conducting inventory control, executing and assessing PM tasks, and demonstrating advanced proficiency in eMaint. Adherence to GMP, SQF, and USDA policies, and compiling end-of-shift downtime reports are also required.
