The Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician operates under little supervision and performs a variety of highly complex maintenance projects. This role involves collaborating with maintenance associates and team members on various tasks, providing project leadership, and managing projects from inception to completion. The technician will offer expert technical guidance, training, and mentorship to less experienced associates, acting as a resource for complex technical inquiries. Accurate record-keeping using maintenance software is essential for identifying replacement parts and estimating repair costs. The role requires interpreting electrical and mechanical prints, installing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical components, and conducting daily rounds for Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance. Collaboration with external vendors, assisting with wastewater treatment, and monitoring operational areas for cost reduction are also key aspects. The technician will support operators in optimizing equipment performance, promptly addressing equipment defects, and implementing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Daily facility maintenance, troubleshooting to minimize downtime, and promoting 6S principles are expected. Repairs on facility infrastructure, piping, equipment, and components are necessary, along with safe operation of forklifts and scissor lifts. Welding and fabrication repairs, including proficiency with lathes, mills, and welding machines, are required. The role involves utilizing mechanical prints for parts identification and providing knowledge on mechanical systems. Advanced preventative maintenance tasks, a comprehensive understanding of all equipment, and expertise in refrigeration systems are also part of the responsibilities. Proficiency in written and spoken English, effective communication, ability to work with various food products, and capacity to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Willingness to learn advanced mechanical and electrical skills, basic problem-solving, knowledge of welding stainless steel, basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, CMMS), understanding of electrical concepts and mechanical knowledge, competence in pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and familiarity with PLC I/O troubleshooting are also required. The technician will offer knowledge of building utilities and support special projects for cost reduction, safety, and quality enhancement, while supporting the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology. Utilizing CMMS systems for inputting work hours, completing work orders and PM tasks, generating work orders, auditing PM schedules, requesting parts, and conducting inventory control are crucial. The role also involves executing and assessing current PM tasks, providing feedback for improvement, and demonstrating advanced proficiency in eMaint. Adherence to GMP, SQF, and USDA policies, and compiling end-of-shift downtime reports are also required.
