About The Position

The Mechanical Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, readiness, and reliability of the UDCC rental equipment fleet, including pumps, fittings, valves, exchangers, drums, reactive equipment, and related components. This role leads maintenance operations by coordinating preventive maintenance activities, supporting equipment quality standards, developing team capabilities, and ensuring fleet availability to meet operational demands. While maintenance is the primary focus of the position, the Mechanical Lead is expected to remain flexible and support returns, count-in activities, load-outs, and other operational priorities as business needs shift. This position works closely with the Warehouse Manager and other operational leads ensuring equipment readiness and overall fleet performance.

Requirements

  • Hands-on mechanical experience (PTZs/Diesel driven, Air Operated Diaphragm and Injection pumps, check and Gate valves, fittings, Drain and Steam details, and related components).
  • Ability to lead, train, and coordinate a small maintenance team.
  • Organized approach to scheduling and inventory.
  • Strong attention to detail for visual and mechanical QA/QC.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new equipment and develop procedures from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary lead for equipment maintenance activities across the fleet, including identifying maintenance needs, planning repairs, establishing preventive maintenance schedules, prioritizing work, and executing maintenance on pumps, fittings, exchangers, drums, reactive equipment, and other mechanical components.
  • As business demands shift, support equipment returns, count-in processes, load-outs, and other operational priorities to ensure fleet readiness and customer service objectives are met.
  • Support the development, standardization, and digitization of maintenance procedures and ensure compliance and execution once implemented.
  • Train employees on maintenance procedures, quality standards, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain consumables and parts inventory by tracking usage, forecasting requirements, and ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance operations.
  • Perform QA/QC inspections on equipment branding, Green Tag requirements, and rent-ready materials to verify compliance with visual, mechanical, and company standards.
  • Work with the Warehouse Manager to identify and procure parts, components, and equipment required to support maintenance and operational objectives.
  • Provide assistance to other operational functions and lead personnel as needed to meet changing business demands and support overall branch performance.
