About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is seeking a Mechanical Systems & Support Designer for its Greenwood, South Carolina facility. The role is responsible for an assigned product line and supports Front End Engineering systems used by Customer Order Designer (COD) teams. Key aims include improving automation tools, helping COD employees use software effectively and follow best practices, supporting systems training for new hires, and escalating and resolving COD issues and requests.

Requirements

• At least an associate degree with a mechanical focus from an accredited institution.
• Three years of drafting and/or engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Deploy and support Front End Engineering systems for the assigned product line.
• Support development of product-line-specific training documentation covering engineering software tools and processes.
• Provide onsite first-level escalation support for system-related issues; determine root cause and urgency, and communicate with stakeholders as needed.
• Support prioritization of MI and DA system issue tickets through individual contribution and coordination of other Eaton resources.
• Maintain familiarity with COD processes for the assigned product line, including application and engineering decisions and methods, product offerings, and design standards.
• Gather system enhancement requests and communicate them to the appropriate development manager.
• Support continuous testing of system enhancements and bug fixes as they are deployed.
• Use knowledge of MI parts-picking logic to troubleshoot parts-picking errors and scope updates associated with product-line enhancements.
• Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed.
• Participate in product-line meetings on Front End Systems projects and continuous improvement activities, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing across engineering, design, and systems teams.
• Drive improvements in automation tools used by COD electrical and/or mechanical teams.
• Provide ongoing learning and guidance for COD on expected software-tool use and best practices.
• Support systems training for new hires.
• Provide ticket escalation support for COD issues and requests.
