About The Position

GoldenWolf is seeking an experienced Mechanical Quality Assurance Engineer - Federal Construction to support repair, renovation, and modernization projects at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). The selected individual will provide onsite construction quality management, mechanical quality assurance, contractor oversight, field inspections, technical reviews, and project documentation support for active healthcare facility construction projects involving HVAC systems, steam systems, utility infrastructure, and facility modernization initiatives.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Mechanical Engineering; OR Licensed Master Mechanical/HVAC Contractor.
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical construction, renovation, or modernization experience.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, mechanical infrastructure, and facility modernization projects.
  • Experience with USACE Three-Phase Inspection Process.
  • Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 requirements.
  • Ability to obtain CAC credentials and associated federal background investigation requirements.
  • Ability to work on active construction sites and healthcare campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Review mechanical submittents, equipment data, shop drawings, and contractor documentation.
  • Evaluate compliance with drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and federal standards.
  • Review RFIs, contractor schedules, deficiency reports, and corrective action plans.
  • Provide technical recommendations to government representatives.
  • Conduct onsite inspections of HVAC, steam, and mechanical infrastructure projects.
  • Verify contractor quality control activities and required testing.
  • Monitor compliance with safety requirements, infection-control measures, and project specifications.
  • Identify and report life-safety issues and construction deficiencies.
  • Attend weekly project meetings with architects, engineers, contractors, and government personnel.
  • Prepare inspection reports, meeting minutes, and QA documentation.
  • Support mechanical system turnover, commissioning, punch-list verification, and project closeout activities.
  • Utilize USACE Resident Management System (RMS).
  • Maintain daily and weekly QA reports.
  • Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, and turnover documentation.
  • Support federal construction compliance activities.
