About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects in Northern Indiana. This role will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical scopes including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing mechanical construction projects in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical environments and the ability to lead subcontractors, engineers, and field teams in fast-paced, high-complexity project settings.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical construction project management
  • Strong background in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems on large commercial or industrial projects
  • Experience delivering mission-critical, data center, healthcare, manufacturing, or complex infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, MEP coordination, and commissioning processes
  • Experience managing budgets, subcontractors, schedules, and project controls
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in fast-track, high-value construction environments preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Candidates may come from mechanical contractors, MEP firms, or general contractors delivering large-scale commercial or mission-critical projects.
  • Experience supporting data center construction or other highly coordinated technical environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical project delivery from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover
  • Oversee HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes across large-scale data center projects
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and cost controls
  • Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, commissioning agents, and subcontractors
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract administration
  • Ensure mechanical systems are installed in accordance with design documents, specifications, and applicable codes
  • Support coordination between mechanical, electrical, controls, and other MEP trades
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular reporting on progress, risks, and commercial performance
  • Oversee procurement and delivery of major mechanical equipment including chillers, AHUs, pumps, and piping systems
  • Support commissioning activities, system startup, and turnover documentation
  • Identify and resolve design and field coordination issues proactively
  • Ensure strong alignment with safety, quality, and schedule objectives
