About The Position

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician role involves assisting journeyman-level mechanics with routine maintenance and performing many duties independently. Key accountabilities include replacing valves and gaskets, basic welding, repacking pumps and valves, forklift operations, screwed pipe and tubing installations, cylinder repair, pump repair and replacement, repair of rotating assemblies, roll repair and replacements, motor replacements, and repair of mechanical drive systems. The role also requires an understanding of the quality policy and supporting efforts for a positive customer experience, as well as aiding in mill-wide quality efforts to maintain mill quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must be currently 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible for employment in the U.S.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to function in a team environment.
  • One (1) year experience in any of the following Maintenance Skill Areas: Millwright, Machinist, Lubrication, Welding, Automotive Maintenance or Pipefitting.
  • OR One (1) year vocational/technical education in any of the following Maintenance Skill Areas: Millwright, Machinist, Lubrication, Welding, Automotive Maintenance or Pipefitting.
  • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment.
  • Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment.
  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule.
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification.
  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis.
  • Wear required safety equipment.
  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in any of the Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines. (Millwright, Machinist, Welding or Pipefitting)
  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.
  • Strong math/physics understanding.
  • Instrumentation background on the Instrumentation Electrical side.
