About The Position

EXP is seeking a Mechanical Intern to join its Chicago office and contribute to Mission Critical, Aviation, Transit, and Commercial building projects. The intern will work with engineers on project tasks, prepare CAD drawings, use HVAC load calculation software, research codes and standards, and complete calculations and other engineering assignments. The role is suited to a student who is at least a sophomore in an accredited mechanical engineering or architectural engineering bachelor's degree program and has an interest in HVAC consulting.

Requirements

At least sophomore status in an accredited bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
Fluent in engineering problem solving.
Able to communicate ideas and concepts well.
Interest in the HVAC consulting industry.
Comfortable with basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
Self-starter and results oriented.
Organized on a daily basis.
Personable when working with colleagues.
Some level of understanding and experience in CAD/3-D skills.

Responsibilities

Work with engineers to achieve project results in a timely and accurate manner.
Generate CAD drawings using AutoCAD.
Use HVAC load calculation software to produce meaningful results.
Research codes, references, and standards to assist engineers.
Prepare handwritten calculations and complete other hand-done engineering assignments.
