About The Position

Merrick & Company seeks a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate or graduate student for a paid Summer 2027 Internship in our Greenwood Village, Colorado office. Merrick’s Summer Internship Program offers meaningful, hands-on experience for students. Designed as a shorter-term, exploratory experience, internships allow students to apply what they’re learning in school while gaining exposure to real projects, professional collaboration, and day-to-day life at an employee-owned company. The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2027.

Requirements

• Must have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible.
• Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program.
• Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.
• Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship
• Possess good written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Creo (strongly preferred), SolidWorks, Revit, CADworx or other 3D modeling packages.
• Previous internships in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Gain technical experience in detailed machine design and fabrication
• 3D modeling in CREO (Pro/Engineer)
• Drawing creation in CREO
• Material selection
• Calculations in Mathcad and CREO Simulation
• Piping systems
• Exposure to ASME NQA-1 quality requirements
• Work both independently and collaboratively with other disciplines
• Interface with clients and contractors
• Adhere to schedules and budget commitments
• Demonstrate problem-solving ability
