Conducts performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems, and controls. This role involves configuring and operating data acquisition systems, analyzing data, writing computer programs for analysis, configuring engine test programs, interpreting results, and documenting findings. The technician will also perform rig, engine, and component builds, tear downs, and inspections, as well as create sketches for machining and fabricate necessary piping, tubing, and brackets. Installation of engines and instrumentation in test cells and rigs is also a key part of the role. The position requires the use of common tools such as Calterm, Asset, and Cyflex. The technician will design, document, and execute test plans, prepare test reports, and ensure adherence to company and department guidelines. They will also work with and train apprentices and technicians, interface with customers, suppliers, and engineers, and coordinate programs. Participation in the maintenance of quality procedures, leading improvement projects, and giving presentations are also expected. Safety, confidentiality, and participation in audits are paramount.
