Writes code, plans tests, and supports software products in an engineering environment. This role involves leading the design, development, and support of software products, including writing and reviewing documentation and code, and planning tests using knowledge of at least one high-level programming language currently used on projects. The position also provides consultation, training, and application support for assigned products, resolving complex helpdesk tickets and offering customer support. The associate will utilize Windows or UNIX operating systems interfaces and lead software test procedures using various simulation and testing platforms, reviewing test reports. Additionally, the role includes leading and participating in cross-functional reviews, collecting and analyzing metrics using Six Sigma tools, and managing tracking systems for process improvement. Development and maintenance of test plans, preparation of test environments, use of software testing tools, and debugging code errors are also key aspects. The associate will download software to target platforms, perform validation, and use configuration management and problem tracking systems. Leading corrective actions based on problem reports and change requests, understanding and applying company and department guidelines, and participating in quality procedure maintenance are expected. The role also involves developing and conducting training programs, providing counseling, mentoring, and coaching, and serving as a company representative to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies. Effective interaction with all levels of employees is crucial. The associate will exercise independent decision-making, perform problem-solving, creative technical and analytical work, budget management, and hands-on applications, coordinating programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking. Adaptability to changing work needs, willingness to undertake new tasks, and participation in improvement projects are essential. Compliance with safety policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality, and sharing work as required are also part of the responsibilities. The associate will manage their own work, maintain a flexible schedule, participate in audits, and engage in continuous learning. Travel may be required, and other miscellaneous duties will be performed as needed.
