Conducts performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems, and controls. This role involves configuring and operating data acquisition systems, analyzing data, writing computer programs for analysis, configuring engine test programs, interpreting results, and documenting all collected data. The technician will also perform rig, engine, and component builds, tear downs, and inspections, including grading and measuring components. Fabrication of necessary piping, tubing, and brackets from prints and drawings is also a key part of the role. Installation of engines and instrumentation in test cells and rigs is required, utilizing common tools such as Calterm, Asset, and Cyflex. The position also includes designing, documenting, and executing test plans, preparing test reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations, and ensuring compliance with company and department rules. This role involves working with and training apprentices and technicians, interfacing with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions, and coordinating programs through planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking. Participation in the maintenance of quality procedures, leading and participating in improvement projects, and developing and giving presentations are also expected. Adherence to all safety policies and procedures, demonstrating confidentiality, and participating in self- and team-audits are mandatory.
