Conducts performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems, and controls. This role involves configuring and operating data acquisition systems, analyzing data, writing computer programs for analysis, configuring engine test programs, interpreting results, and documenting findings. The technician will also perform rig, engine, and component builds, tear downs, and inspections, as well as grading and measuring components. Fabrication of necessary piping, tubing, and brackets from prints and drawings is also a key part of the role. The technician will install engines and instrumentation in test cells and rigs, and use common tools such as Calterm, Asset, and Cyflex. Designing, documenting, and executing test plans, preparing test reports, and understanding company and department guidelines are essential. This role also involves working with and training apprentices and technicians, interfacing with customers, suppliers, and engineers, and coordinating programs. Participation in the maintenance of quality procedures and leading/participating in improvement projects are also expected. The technician will develop and give presentations to customers and suppliers, and must comply with all safety policies and procedures, demonstrate confidentiality, and participate in audits.
