About The Position

Haag Streit USA’s paid co-op program provides students with hands-on experience applying classroom knowledge to workplace scenarios. Co-op participants are full members of their departments and take on daily responsibilities. This full-time opportunity is for a self-motivated student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering who wants to apply engineering principles in a project-based, fast-moving environment. The intern will contribute to manufacturing process improvement, fixture and tooling design, and work involving complex data.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Highly motivated, curious, and growth-minded, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Effective computer, verbal communication, and written/report-writing skills.
• Basic CAD knowledge.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Deadline-oriented and able to complete tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fixtures, layouts, and tooling.
• Assist with maintenance and production on the floor.
• Observe and create updated work instruction manuals.
• Help improve work processes through adoption of new technologies.
• Assist with inventory management and organization.
• Perform data entry, visualization, and analysis.
• Help develop processes to improve workflow.
• Prepare reports as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
