We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and quality-oriented individual with an interest in engineering and engineering project management to join our team as an Mechanical Engineering Intern in Coffman Engineers’ Downtown Los Angeles office. This internship is ideal for an engineering student interested in project management within the AEC industry. This role will support multi‑discipline projects, providing exposure to mechanical, electrical, civil, fire protection, and other engineering systems. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support project execution tasks that span multiple disciplines and project phases. The role emphasizes organization, communication, coordination, and an understanding of how engineering projects are planned, managed, and delivered. This position offers hands-on exposure to consulting engineering project management, working directly with experienced engineers and project managers in a collaborative office environment. This role will support multidisciplinary projects throughout the life cycle of a project, and allow the intern to develop an understanding of how engineering projects are scoped, scheduled, coordinated, and executed.

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time student in a mechanical, electrical, civil, or related engineering program at a local nationally recognized, accredited college or university.
  • Completion of at least two years of coursework toward an undergraduate engineering degree.
