The Mechanical Engineer (Machine Design) owns the development of custom mechanical systems for industrial automation projects, including machine frames, actuators, guarding, and integrated motion assemblies. The role translates client requirements into robust, manufacturable, and scalable designs that meet performance and safety standards. It focuses on design ownership and scalability, optimizing mechanical systems for performance and supporting interoperability with controls, motion, and OT systems. The engineer collaborates closely with the fabrication shop and build team to ensure designs are executed from concept through commissioning. The position includes leading machine, subassembly, and component design; creating and maintaining CAD models, drawings, and documentation; validating designs through simulation; and supporting fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning. It also contributes to standardized design libraries and improvements to design efficiency. The work is based in Greenville, South Carolina, in a hybrid arrangement. Work takes place in office and fabrication shop environments, with occasional client site visits and hands-on involvement during assembly, installation, and commissioning. PPE is required in shop and client environments.
