About The Position

Permanent position located near Kalamazoo, Michigan, designing and engineering custom machine systems for automation, process equipment, and material handling applications. The engineer will work on special machine systems from concept through completion and may lead and mentor other engineers, Machine Designers, and Detailers. The role includes creating models and drawings, sizing mechanical components, reviewing technical project materials, and supporting production and customer needs.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
Proven experience in machine design, preferably in automation, process equipment, or material handling systems.
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Technical proficiency, a team-oriented mindset, and keen attention to detail.
Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Inventor, Creo, ProE, AutoCAD, or other 3D software.

Responsibilities

Design and project-engineer custom machine systems using engineering principles and mechanical design expertise.
Mentor and lead Machine Designers and Detailers to help ensure project objectives are met.
Conceptualize and develop designs from initial concept through final implementation.
Create detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Size mechanical components, including pumps, gears, bearings, hydraulics, conveyors, and piping.
Review bid specifications, detailed drawings, technical manuals, and bills of materials.
Support production and assist with customer needs and inquiries.
