About The Position

HIWIN Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the application, design, testing, and continuous improvement of their industry-leading linear motion and mechatronic products. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in mechanical design, automation, product development, and customer applications while working alongside experienced engineers. The position is based onsite in Huntley, IL, and involves supporting customer, distributor, and sales inquiries, assisting with product selection and quotations, contributing to the design and testing of custom solutions, creating 3D models and documentation using SolidWorks, participating in prototype development and testing, and collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams on product improvements and new product introductions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, or academic projects
  • Foundational understanding of mechanical systems, machine design, manufacturing processes, and engineering calculations
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills with a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment
  • Must be able to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm in Huntley, IL
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis

Responsibilities

  • Support customer, distributor, and sales inquiries related to HIWIN products
  • Assist with product selection, quotations, and engineering calculations
  • Contribute to the design and testing of custom motion control solutions
  • Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks
  • Participate in prototype development, product testing, and performance analysis
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams on product improvements and new product introductions
