Mechanical Engineer

Applied Materials•Santa Clara, CA

About The Position

Applied Materials is the global leader in materials science and engineering solutions supporting semiconductor chips and advanced displays. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will apply physics, mathematics, and materials science to resolve mechanical problems, design and implement custom tooling and associated processes, and enable handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. You will design, develop, and modify mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications; oversee manufacturing and installation processes to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations; and coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects. You will also identify sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues. The position involves identifying and troubleshooting complex mechanical problems, leading or executing engineering projects, developing suppliers, and communicating with internal and external customers. The engineer will develop product solutions, establish operational process standards, prepare specifications and test reports, perform or coordinate engineering analyses, and serve as a technical expert on specialized projects or programs.
