About The Position

Build hands-on mechanical engineering experience by learning to interpret pneumatic, hydraulic, and P&ID schematics, design components using AutoCAD, and apply machine safety and continuous improvement principles. You’ll strengthen your technical skills while collaborating with teams on real-world manufacturing projects. This is a year-round internship program structured for part-time hours (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time hours (40 hours/week) during the summer. The program is located in Fostoria, OH, with a start date of January 2027.

Requirements

Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Ability to succeed in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Excel and analyst skills.
AutoCAD experience.
Exposure to Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Tools.

Responsibilities

Update plant layouts and P&ID drawings to support engineering and maintenance projects.
Design and modify parts in AutoCAD for fabrication by local vendors.
Partner with the Maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root causes of failures.
Organize and maintain mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
Support process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Collaborate with vendors and contractors on plant projects and equipment improvements.
