About The Position

The Transportation Operations Year-Round Intern assists the Transportation Operations team in ensuring customer service and safety. The intern communicates with drivers, customers, load planning, sales, claims, road service, and facilities. Duties include creating ad hoc reports and performing administrative tasks, with potential support for fleet managers under the supervision of the terminal manager. The role provides exposure to leadership and safety principles and opportunities to network across business units.

The position requires 40 hours of work per week through the summer and up to 20 hours per week during the school year, as classes allow. Students must live within 50 miles of the facility. The successful candidate must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Be a current sophomore, junior, or senior with at least one year remaining before graduation.
• Previous work experience in any field is beneficial.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong multitasking abilities and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Be a motivated self-starter and willing to engage with people.
• Be able to work 40 hours per week through the summer and up to 20 hours per week during the school year as classes allow.
• Be within commutable distance of the facility, defined as 50 miles or less.
• Resume must state expected graduation date and area of study.
• Be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
