About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineer III, you’ll play a key role in designing mechanical systems for complex facilities while also taking ownership of project scope and mentoring junior team members. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to grow into leadership while staying hands-on with design. You’ll contribute across the full project lifecycle—from early concept through construction—working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, coordinated solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical system design (AEC environment preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial or industrial facilities
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, codes, and industry standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, or food & beverage facilities
  • Familiarity with GMP environments or regulated industries
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM tools
  • Experience working with contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Exposure to sustainable design practices (LEED, WELL, etc.)
  • Experience with plumbing systems and/or field assessments

Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC and mechanical utility systems for new construction, renovations, and process-driven environments
  • Perform engineering calculations, including heating/cooling loads, energy modeling, and system sizing
  • Develop construction documents, including drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and system layouts
  • Select and specify equipment and ensure designs align with applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.)
  • Lead the mechanical scope for small to mid-sized projects or major portions of larger projects
  • Manage deadlines, deliverables, and mechanical budgets for assigned work
  • Contribute to all phases of design, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction
  • Partner closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver coordinated designs
  • Participate in site visits, field surveys, and construction support activities (RFIs, submittals, punch lists)
  • Ensure designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with project goals
  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and designers
  • Lead quality checks and ensure deliverables meet CRB standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and internal knowledge sharing
