Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent work experience required.
- Five to ten years in a product development environment required
- Strong 3D modeling skills required
- Advanced proficiency in ProE with an emphasis on surfacing skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MSOffice Standard.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of injection molding processing and tooling.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of materials and processes used to manufacture injection molded plastic, stamped metal, and elastomeric components.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of product development best practices (i.e. DFM, DOE, DFMEA, FEA, Lean PD, etc…)
- Intermediate knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to work well with numbers required.
- Ability to work independently to make decisions and report progress.
- Personal communication and conduct skills at a professional level.
Nice To Haves
- hearing or medical device industry experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of acoustics and vibration highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop system and component performance requirements.
- Design new and innovative standard and custom hearing aids and other auxiliary devices which meet product requirements.
- Perform design verification testing to ensure that all criteria are met.
- Provide input into project planning and management to ensure that project schedules are met, and areas of high risk addressed.
- Generate accurate design documentation.
