About The Position
Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Mechanical Drafter to join its team in Pontiac, Illinois. The Mechanical Drafter supports Manufacturing Engineers by producing drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation for new manufacturing equipment and processes. The role offers an opportunity to develop hands-on drafting experience in a manufacturing environment. The position includes occasional access to the factory floor.
Requirements
- High school diploma and at least 1 year of drafting or related experience.
- Demonstrated drafting and 3D modeling skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal follow-up once trained.
- Professional conduct, including appropriate language, strong time management, and professional personal presentation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Siemens NX and/or AutoCAD.
- Desire to gain experience in a technical field.
Responsibilities
- Draft and model tooling, tool layouts, and fixture drawings for newly purchased machines and processes.
- Support tool design engineering by producing drawings and 3D models and expanding the group's tool design drafting capabilities.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers with layouts and with developing and validating technical documentation for new machine acquisitions.
- Convert supplier drawings to company drafting standards.
- Review and align on work priorities with the manager.
