About The Position

This role offers an opportunity to work with a collaborative team of mechanical engineering professionals, utilizing and enhancing mechanical engineering design skills. The Mechanical Designer will join a multi-disciplined group of engineering professionals (mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural) to deliver design services for complex plant/building systems and site operations for heavy industrial sectors, including mining, mineral processing, aggregate, and metals. Responsibilities include assisting with drafting and design of mechanical system projects by preparing drawings using design production software, performing basic mechanical calculations, and completing redline revisions. Internally, this position is referred to as an Engineering Specialist.

Requirements

Associate degree in architectural technology, engineering technology, mechanical / building system design, CAD technology, or related field.
Four or more years of progressive experience designing industrial mechanical systems.
High proficiency of AutoCAD and Revit.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship needs or requirements.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with layout of ductwork and piping systems in a 3D environment.
Previous experience with layout of industrial systems such as process piping and ductwork.
Previous experience with mechanical design.
Familiarity with process flow diagrams, process piping diagrams, and/or piping & instrumentation diagrams.
Experience with Plant 3D and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

Assist with drafting & design of mechanical system projects by preparing drawings through the utilization of design production software.
Perform basic mechanical calculations.
Complete redline revisions.
