Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design within heavy equipment, transformers, or similar industries.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics and fabrication methods.
- Experience with CAD tools and mechanical calculation methods.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (ASME, IEEE, ANSI).
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on mindset.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer mechanical components of power transformers including tanks, cores, clamping systems, and accessories.
- Perform mechanical calculations related to structural strength, vibration, lifting, and transportation.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
- Support manufacturing during fabrication and assembly with technical guidance.
- Collaborate with electrical engineering to ensure integrated and optimized transformer designs.
- Support factory acceptance tests and resolve mechanical non-conformities.
- Drive continuous improvement in mechanical design, cost optimization, and manufacturability.
