Mechanical Design Engineer (Entry & Associate Level)

Boeing•Berkeley, MO

About The Position

The Boeing Company is hiring an Entry-Level or Associate Mechanical Design Engineer for its Environmental Test Design Engineering team in Berkeley, Missouri. The role supports St. Louis Environmental Lab testing for local Boeing Defense & Space programs. The design team partners with laboratory test teams to provide designs and hardware for testing across capabilities including vibration and structural dynamics, acoustics, airflow and fuel-flow systems, high-temperature flow impingement, and environmental control chambers that vary temperature, humidity, and pressure. The engineer designs and modifies test articles, fixtures, and support structures that integrate with laboratory facilities. Work ranges from adapters and fixtures to full test rigs and complete aircraft subsystems with supporting structures. Designs may interface with facility infrastructure such as pressure, heating and cooling, power, hydraulics, and instrumentation. The role also supports fabrication, installation, connection, and acceptance and checkout to deliver test-ready hardware. The team works on military aircraft and weapons programs including T-7A, F-15, F/A-18, MQ-25, JDAM, SDB, and proprietary Phantom Works efforts. The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance after starting is required. The role also requires the ability to obtain program access, including SCI and/or SAP access. The position is not contingent upon a program award and is not safety sensitive. Boeing will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

  • Experience with 3D solid-modeling software applications such as NX, CATIA, or CADD.
  • Experience in mechanical systems design.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government, and an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance after starting is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and/or Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • Must meet U.S. export-control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.
