About The Position

Re:Build Fikst is hiring an entry-level mechanical engineer to contribute to product development in a hands-on engineering consulting environment. The engineer will work with a team to develop new technologies and bring products to market, gaining experience in mechanical design, prototype construction and testing, and refining designs based on test results. The role involves close collaboration with fellow engineers and clients and use of Fikst’s laboratory, prototyping, and manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Broad technical background and desire to learn.
• 3D CAD experience; SolidWorks is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, sheet metal, or casting.
• Experience designing biomedical products or industrial automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs and new technologies for products.
• Build and test prototypes, then use test findings to refine and improve designs.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers and clients in product development.
• Use CNC machining and turning centers, 3D printers, laser cutters, and scientific and engineering equipment to prototype and experiment.
