About The Position

This role involves managing time efficiently, handling competing priorities, and practicing safety-conscious design and build processes. The engineer will work cooperatively within a team to deliver quality products, maintain a positive attitude, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete projects on time and within budget. Communication with team members, management, and customers regarding job progress and potential issues is essential. The position requires an understanding of machine design theory, accurate calculations, and the ability to provide guidance to less experienced engineers. Designs must be manufacturable, accurate, meet project scope, and be error-free. Responsibilities include developing bills of material, using SolidWorks for drawings, applying standard drafting/design principles, and coordinating with the Design Manager & Engineers. The engineer will also draft engineering notes, specifications, and rough sketches, formalizing them into working drawings, and utilizing technical manuals for compliance.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Intermediate proficiency in SolidWorks design software.
Intermediate proficiency in small machine design.
Intermediate proficiency in medium machine design.
Beginner to intermediate proficiency in large machine design.
Intermediate written and verbal communication skills.
Must have intermediate knowledge in advanced CAD techniques.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Basic knowledge of metals and varied materials.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Mechatronics or similar engineering track.

Develop bills of material.
Use SolidWorks software to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings, images, & other forms of communication.
Apply standard drafting/design principles and theories to complete assignments.
Work closely with Design Manager & Engineers to ensure a coordinated design.
Draft engineering notes, specifications, rough sketches and formalizes them into working drawings.
Utilize technical manuals to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable standards and codes.
May perform other duties as assigned or required.
