This co-op opportunity offers exposure to electro-optical mechanical design, documentation, and database management across a portfolio of networking platforms. The role contributes to the development and documentation of leading edge circuit packs and optical plugs while gaining experience with engineering design processes and prototype evaluation.
Requirements
- Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3D design tool experience, preferably Creo or Solidworks
- Strong analytical and design skills
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical design solutions for circuit packs and optical plugs incorporating current technologies in physically dense and thermally constrained environments
- Create mechanical part and assembly designs and drawings
- Evaluate first samples and build prototype assemblies
- Manage and maintain 3D printer equipment
- Maintain engineering databases
