Software Engineering Co-op: September - December 2026
About The Position
PathAI is seeking intellectually curious and driven engineering students for software engineering co-op positions from September to December 2026. Co-ops will help lay the groundwork for PathAI's growing software platform, contributing to the mission of improving patient outcomes with AI-powered pathology. This role involves transforming traditional pathology methods into powerful new technologies to accelerate drug development, improve diagnostic accuracy, and expedite the delivery of life-saving therapies. Co-ops will work with a diverse and talented team dedicated to solving complex problems and making a significant impact.
Requirements
- Previous employer experience (internship, volunteer work, or other employment).
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 50% of the degree program completed.
- Insatiable intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn quickly in a complex space.
- Team player, willing to do the work no matter how big or small.
- Passionate about their work.
Responsibilities
- Solve interesting problems with code.
- Build new features for internal and external users, and refactor existing ones to make them better.
- Interface directly with team members of all levels including our CEO & other executives.
- Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to solve problems in sustainable ways, sometimes involving low-level systems and other times front-end user interface development.
- Drive the architecture of our application platform, considering the team and our future product roadmap.
- Collaborate with product, design, front-end, machine learning, and infrastructure teams.
- Drive and uphold high engineering standards, bringing consistency to the codebases encountered and ensuring software is adequately reviewed, tested, and integrated.
- Learn and share knowledge with others.
