About The Position

As a Mechanical Construction Estimator, you will develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and proposals for complex power generation, industrial manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, and data center construction projects. This role plays a critical part in securing new business by supporting preconstruction planning, evaluating project risks, analyzing construction costs, and helping deliver competitive bids that contribute to project and organizational success.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of construction estimating or construction management experience.
  • Experience in power generation and industrial construction environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
  • Experience with Lump Sum, Fixed Fee, and Time & Material contract structures.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction estimating, labor analysis, quantity take-offs, and cost modeling.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, technical specifications, and scope development.
  • Working knowledge of project cost accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry estimating and scheduling software.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and proposals for complex power generation, industrial manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, and data center construction projects.
  • Support preconstruction planning, evaluate project risks, and analyze construction costs.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, equipment layouts, and project documentation to develop detailed cost estimates.
  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, preconstruction, and operations teams to evaluate project scope, labor requirements, material costs, equipment needs, site logistics, and construction execution strategies.
  • Perform quantity take-offs.
  • Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotations.
  • Support value engineering efforts.
  • Assess constructability risks that may impact project cost, schedule, or productivity.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain estimating databases using historical project cost information and market trends.
