Mechanical Associate Project Manager

Calista Brice•Fairbanks, AK

About The Position

The Mechanical Associate Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and administration of mechanical construction projects from estimating and preconstruction through execution and closeout. The role works with Project Managers, field personnel, estimators, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support estimating, project planning, cost and schedule tracking, procurement, documentation, quality control, and other project requirements. The position monitors project progress, costs, materials, documentation, and deliverables, and communicates project needs, risks, and changes to the Project Manager. The position is primarily office-based, with travel to project sites, including remote Alaskan locations, as needed. Field travel may involve small planes, boats, and vehicles, depending on availability, and may require extended stays in rustic accommodations. Field hours may greatly exceed the posted schedule; a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, may be required, and evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet project deliverables. The work environment is fast-paced and involves both office and construction-site conditions. The role has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but assists with managing subcontractors and mentoring and coaching project staff under the oversight and direction of the Project Manager. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required, though experience and equivalent skills may substitute on a year-for-year basis. Four years of related experience and experience supporting construction projects are preferred. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s driving requirements, and be able to pass drug, driving, and background screenings.
