About The Position

The Project Lead is responsible for producing and assembling machine(s) and machine parts according to specifications. This role involves reading and following blueprints, shop orders, and specifications to build and assemble parts and equipment accurately and efficiently. The Project Lead will operate material handling equipment, set up and run assemblies, and measure parts using precision tools. They will also utilize overhead crane and rigging procedures, fabricate sheet metal, and travel to customer sites for installation. Additionally, the Project Lead will oversee contracted employees, train other employees, manage material inventory, and complete dispatch reports. They will also perform and manage line audit teams and Bill of Material (BOM) tasks. Occasional responsibilities include utilizing Personal Protective Equipment, assisting other departments, performing department clean-up and improvement projects, and facility maintenance and upgrades.

Requirements

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a High School diploma.
  • Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to make metric system conversions.
  • Must have previous assembly experience.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints and other manufacturing instructions.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically required.
  • Ability to navigate CAD documents required.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems required.
  • Must have the knowledge and ability to use hand tools and machine tools such as drill press, band saw, cut-off saw and grinder.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
  • Must be able to collaborate with others (including in-person) to proactively develop solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Millwright certification, Associates in Electromechanical field, or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of carpentry and pneumatics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and follows blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts and equipment in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Operates material handling equipment.
  • Assist coordinator and lead project teams by providing project related information.
  • Sets up and runs assemblies per specifications.
  • Measures parts accurately using scales, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Utilize overhead crane and rigging procedures.
  • Fabricates sheet metal.
  • Travel to customer sites to install kits and machinery.
  • Oversee contracted employees during assembly and install at customer facilities.
  • Must train other employees.
  • Performs department clean up and improvement projects.
  • Manages material inventory.
  • Manages and completes dispatch report.
  • Performs and manages line audit teams and Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Assists other departments.
  • Facility maintenance and upgrades.
