About The Position

The Project Lead is responsible for producing and assembling machine(s) and machine parts according to specifications. This role involves reading and following blueprints, shop orders, and specifications to build and assemble parts and equipment accurately and efficiently. The Project Lead will also operate material handling equipment, assist coordinators and lead project teams by providing project-related information, and set up and run assemblies per specifications. Key tasks include measuring parts accurately using scales, micrometers, and calipers, utilizing overhead crane and rigging procedures, and fabricating sheet metal. The role requires travel to customer sites for installation of kits and machinery, overseeing contracted employees during assembly and installation at customer facilities, and training other employees. Additionally, the Project Lead will perform department clean-up and improvement projects, manage material inventory, complete dispatch reports, and manage line audit teams and Bill of Materials (BOM).

Requirements

  • Education generally equivalent to a High School diploma.
  • Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to make metric system conversions.
  • Previous assembly experience.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and other manufacturing instructions.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically.
  • Ability to navigate CAD documents.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to use hand tools and machine tools such as drill press, band saw, cut-off saw and grinder.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
  • Ability to collaborate with others (including in-person) to proactively develop solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Millwright certification
  • Associates in Electromechanical field, or equivalent years of experience
  • Knowledge of carpentry
  • Knowledge of pneumatics
