About The Position
Berger is seeking a Mechanic for their Deer Lake site. This role involves working outdoors and maintaining equipment, specifically focusing on tractors and other machinery used for peat harvesting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, enjoy troubleshooting, and be adept at performing preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment is in optimal working order. Key responsibilities include daily maintenance, carrying out repairs, and diagnosing and maintaining various power transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems.
Requirements
- Training or experience in mechanics is required
- You have a strong mechanical aptitude
- You have basic welding knowledge
- You work quickly and efficiently
- You can prioritize tasks and stay organized
Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance on tractors and equipment
- Carry out repairs and perform preventative maintenance
- Diagnose and maintain power transmissions, as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems
- Complete approved work orders according to the established schedule
