About The Position

Waukesha County Central Fleet is hiring a Mechanic to repair and maintain the equipment that supports critical County operations, including the Public Works, Sheriff’s, and Parks departments. This is a first-shift, Monday through Friday position. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the major overhaul and repair of diesel and gasoline powered vehicles and equipment.
  • Recognized post high school training directly in mechanical maintenance may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to one (1) year's work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with airbrake endorsement within six (6) months of employment.
  • Possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the essential job functions as listed in the Mechanic ADA Essential Functions Worksheet.
