This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of pipelines, equipment and performance of work associated with daily operation and maintenance of gas and liquid facilities and pipelines. The role involves inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and operating compressor station or pump station equipment, plant facilities and pipeline facilities including prime movers and compressors, valves, filters, separators, dehydrators, pumps, and auxiliary equipment. The goal is to meet production and product throughput requirements in a reliable and efficient manner while complying with the Partnership’s procedures and regulatory requirements. The individual will also plan, organize, prioritize, communicate, and coordinate work with employees and contractors to ensure work is completed safely, timely, and effectively. Other duties include providing budgetary information, scheduling work and outages, ordering materials, maintaining inventory, and coordinating needed resources. The role requires interpreting and utilizing drawings, schematics, loading/pump curves, OEM manuals, and other technical resources. The Mechanic must effectively and safely use hand tools, power tools, and portable and mobile work equipment in various environments, and utilize precision measurement equipment. Maintaining equipment records, logs, inventory, and other documentation is also essential. Depending on the level hired, the position may involve providing training and leadership. A working knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.) and performing associated tasks and documentation is necessary. The Mechanic is also responsible for maintaining facilities, grounds, and work areas safely and efficiently, actively participating in safety programs, and providing on-call support on a rotating basis. Compliance with partnership safety policies and procedures and performing energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO) are also key aspects of the role.
