About The Position

The Mechanic inspects and tests vehicles and performs preventive maintenance, including tire rotation and replacement, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, filter replacement, and fluid exchanges. The role involves identifying and communicating recommended repairs and services, completing work to manufacturer specifications, and maintaining required training and certifications. The Mechanic may also assist with phones and front-counter duties. This is a full-time, hourly position eligible for monthly bonuses.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
At least 18 years of age.
6 months of related experience (preferred).
High school diploma or GED (preferred).
Complete and maintain the required certification: ASE A5 – Brakes within one year in position or ASE G1 – Maintenance and Light Repair, or equivalent such as Ford.

Responsibilities

Complete a vehicle inspection each time and communicate potential repairs to the front counter before the vehicle leaves the shop.
Consistently inspect vehicles and recommend needed repairs or services using the vehicle inspection report.
Perform vehicle alignments and fluid exchanges to manufacturer specifications.
Evaluate brake condition and recommend repairs.
Perform oil changes and replace air filters.
Change, repair, and balance tires; ensure proper torquing on all jobs.
Monitor and replenish lube-related inventory.
Recommend products and services when needed.
Quote repairs.
Complete required training and maintain certifications, including ASE A5 – Brakes within one year in position or ASE G1 – Maintenance and Light Repair, or equivalent certification such as Ford.
Assist with phones and front-counter duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
