About The Position

Core & Main is seeking a mechanically inclined Mechanic to clean, inspect, test, and maintain company mechanical equipment and vehicles. The role requires sound judgment while following established guidelines and procedures, attention to detail, and accurate maintenance and repair records. Proper equipment and vehicle maintenance supports workplace safety. The preferred candidate has heavy-duty mechanical experience and some diagnostic ability, and can change tires, pressure wash, paint, and keep the work area clean and safe.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined, with an understanding of how things work.
• Effective communication skills and confidence exercising independent judgment while following established guidelines and procedures.
• Detail-oriented and able to prepare accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to learn and improve skills, including critical thinking.
• Ability to change tires, pressure wash, and paint.
• Ability to keep the work area clean and safe.

Nice To Haves

• Preferably 2–5 years of related experience.
• Heavy-duty mechanical experience with some ability to diagnose.
• Familiarity with 49 CFR.
