About The Position
Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time General Mechanic to support its fleet at two locations in the Houston and Porter, Texas area. The position involves a variety of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair tasks, while following applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company policies and procedures. Employees must provide their own basic mechanic’s tools. The schedule is Monday through Friday with on-call responsibilities. The mechanic must be flexible to work during weather events. The role requires safe work practices in varying environmental and weather conditions, the ability to adapt to changing schedules and technology, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Background, motor vehicle record, and controlled-substance testing are conducted before hire.
Requirements
- 10 years of repair and maintenance experience with a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
- Clean driving record; company standards for driving-record, criminal-record, and controlled-substance/drug testing must be met.
- Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions.
- Ability to adapt to the latest technology and use a smartphone and applications.
- Ability to adjust to a changing work schedule and work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate hand and power tools.
- Must provide a basic set of mechanic’s tools.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
