About The Position
The Trailer Mechanic position at XTRA Lease is an opportunity for individuals with at least one year of experience in trailer and brake repair. The role involves diagnosing, servicing, and repairing XTRA Lease equipment according to company standards, performing safety and legally required inspections (FHWA/BIT), and maintaining parts and yard organization to ensure a safe working environment. Success in this role requires knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems, as well as general mechanical operation and body repair. The position offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with minimal weekend or night work.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working specifically on trailers
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working on brakes
- Must be qualified to complete FHWA inspections
- Must have a valid and current driver's license
- Own your own tools

Responsibilities
- Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing all XTRA Lease equipment as indicated on repair orders and consistent with XTRA Lease repair standards.
- Performing safety and legally required inspections (FHWA/BIT).
- Maintaining parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
